Events & Programs

PDM:
Drake Power Plant Cancelled

The planned tour of Colorado Springs Utilities Drake Power Plant for mid-May has been cancelled due to a lack of response to our request for potential interest. We have enjoyed a great year of professional development meetings and facility tours, and forward to a new slate of events beginning in September. Please forward any ideas to:
programs@apicspikespeak.org or voice mail (719 578-1225).

Education News
By Mike Heath

The Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM), Just-in-Time-Lean (JIT) and CSCP classes will be rescheduled for September.
Detailed Scheduling and Planning (DSP) is now scheduled to begin one week later on April 17, 2008. This 9 week course will meet one evening weekly from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The deadline to register for SMR is March 31, 2008.

(Class Schedule)

In order to keep our prices as low as possible, Pikes Peak Chapter does not lease classroom facilities. Rather, we rely on students to host classes at their place of employment. When you register, please indicate if you (or your employer) would be willing to host CPIM classes.

Enhance Your Earning Power

APICS Professional Certification Strongly Desired

A recent search on popular online job sites showed that top employers such as Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman, and Harley-Davidson are seeking candidates that hold APICS CPIM and APICS CSCP designations. With an APICS designation, increase your position and raise your market value. According to a recent salary survey, the average compensation of APICS CPIM-certified professionals was 17 percent more than for those who were not certified.
