Class Locations:

Students may offer to host classes at their place of employment. To keep our prices low, Pikes Peak Chapter does not rent classroom facilities. We have always relied on our students to offer classroom space, and this policy has been very successful for us. Please help us to keep our prices as low as possible by hosting your classes where you work.

Contact Mike Heath at (719) 668-8035 or education@apicspikespeak.org for more details.

Certified in Production and Inventory Management - Fall Schedule:

Both Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) and Execution and Control of Operations (ECO) are scheduled to begin the week of September 15, 2008. Register by August 25, 2008 to take either of these courses. BSCM will continue for 10 weekly meetings, while ECO will be complete after 9 weekly meetings.

Class Meeting Times:
Both of these classes will meet on a weekday evening (Monday through Thursday). We will select the specific day of the week based on student preferences. Be sure to indicate your available evenings when you register for a course.

CPIM Course Prices:
The tuition price for all CPIM courses is $495 for APICS members or $655 for non-members. The non-member price includes a one year APICS membership (a $200 value).

Registration Procedures:
You may register and pay by credit card on this secure website. If you prefer to pay by check or company purchase order you may register via email to education@apicspikespeak.org. Be sure to indicate the course, your preferred evening, and whether your company would be willing to host the class.
We must receive your payment by the registration deadline.

All CPIM courses require a minimum of 5 students. Courses not meeting the minimum enrollment will be rescheduled.

CPIM Course Materials:
Your class tuition includes all materials, including a Participant Workbook, CD of Practice Exam Questions, Reprints book, CPIM Exam Voucher, and a coupon for one of our Professional Development Meetings. In addition, first-time students also receive a CPIM Exam Content Manual and an APICS Dictionary.

Special CPIM Certification Maintenance Pricing:
CPIM holders who need Certification Maintenance points may attend CPIM review courses at reduced prices. These students receive 3 hours of Continuing Education (CE) credit for each class session attended. Certification Maintenance students who bring their own student materials and who do not require an exam voucher may attend CPIM review courses for the special price of $160.

Saturday Classes :
Some APICS chapters have had success in scheduling classes on Saturdays, and Pikes Peak Chapter has offered CSCP classes on Saturday. However, we have never offered Saturday CPIM classes. Let us know if you would be interested in attending Saturday CPIM classes in the future. We would probably require 3 full Saturdays for a typical CPIM course, and we would probably schedule these for alternate weekends rather than consecutively. You may indicate your interest by emailing education@apicspikespeak.org or by clicking the Class Interest/Waiting List

Future CPIM Classes:
Strategic Management of Resources (SMR) is scheduled to begin the week of January 12, 2009. One week later, the week of January 19, Master Planning of Resources (MPR) is scheduled.

Certified Supply Chain Professional
Already have your CPIM, CFPIM, and/or CIRM? Then you are an ideal candidate for Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP). Students must meet one of the following conditions:

· APICS CPIM, CFPIM, CIRM, or C.P.M. designation plus two years of related business experience

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus two years of related business experience

· Five years of related business experience

Pikes Peak Chapter has scheduled a CSCP review course to prepare students for the December 13, 2008 exam. We are offering a choice of weekly evening classes or bi-weekly Saturday classes. We will select one of these options based on student responses. The weekly classes would meet from 6:00 to 9:00 one evening per week for 13 weeks starting the week of September 8. Register by August 18 for the weekly classes.

If the required minimum registration for weekly classes has not been achieved by the August 18 deadline, we will hold registration open until September 5 for Saturday classes. The Saturday classes would meet all day on 6 alternate Saturdays starting September 27, 2008.

When you register for the CSCP course, please indicate your preference, either weekly evening or Saturday. If you choose weekly, please indicate which evenings you are available. Registration procedures are the same as for CPIM courses, described above. This course requires a minimum of 4 students.

CSCP Pricing:
Tuition for the CSCP course is $1650 for APICS members or $1810 for non-members. All students receive the CSCP Learning System, copies of all instructor overheads, and an exam voucher. In addition, non-members receive a one year APICS membership (a $200 value).

New Lean Enterprise Workshop Series:

The most successful individuals and organizations map out their goals to ensure they are achieved. When organizations decide to go lean, they need a skilled team to lead them. Build your skills and become a lean leader at your organization with the new APICS Lean Enterprise Workshop Series.

The APICS Lean Enterprise Workshop (LEW) series is organized to enable you to approach the lean transformation process systematically. Using scenarios from a fictitious company, Murphy's Toys, you will be tasked with finding lean solutions to a myriad of challenges. This method will provide you with the flexibility to immediately customize what you've learned and implement lean principles at your own organization.

Workshop include:
     o Introduction
     o Lean Culture
     o Value Stream Mapping
     o Stability and Process Improvements
     o Just-in-Time
     o Measuring
     o Sustaining

LEW Schedule and Pricing:
APICS Pikes Peak Chapter will offer the Lean Enterprise Workshop series to begin the week of September 29, 2008. Register by September 8 to attend the series. The four-hour weekly sessions will be scheduled either for a weekday evening from 5:30 to 9:30 or a Saturday morning from 8:00 to noon. Please indicate your meeting time preference when you register, using the process described (above) for CPIM course registration. A minimum of 5 students is required for the LEW series.

The tuition price for LEW is $800 for APICS members or $980 for non-members. The non-member price includes a one year APICS membership (a $200 value). All workshop participants receive workshop materials. Those who participate in all workshop meetings will receive a Lean Certificate of Completion, issued by APICS corporate.

Cancellation Policy :
Cancellations of course registrations with full refunds are allowed no later than 1 week (7 days) before the first class meeting. Cancellations less than 7 days before the event carry a $50 cancellation fee. In other words, a full refund will be made minus a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations received on or after the date of the first class meeting (no shows) carry a $100 cancellation fee. To process a cancellation, you must contact Mike Heath at education@apicspikespeak.org or (719) 668-8035.
